Beauty Products: If You Can’t Eat It Don’t Use It!

Organic Beauty Products Are Foods For Your Skin
  • NO HARSH CHEMICALS

Organic beauty products, made from natural ingredients, do not contain harsh chemicals that can harm your skin. Just as your body and mind require vitamins, minerals and nutrients to thrive, your skin, hair and nails require nourishment as well. Organic products rarely cause allergic reactions to those who have sensitive skin, as do most commercial products. Most chemicals are added to beauty products to extend shelf life rather than to nourish and support healthy skin, hair and nails.

  • NATURAL FRAGRANCES

The aroma of an organic product  is derived from the natural ingredients used to make the product: essential oils, coconut milk, shea butter, olive oil, aloe vera, grapeseed oil, almond oil.  Skin and hair care lines containing chemicals you can’t pronounce,  usually have to add more chemicals that pretend to create a natural fragrance.

  • BUY FROM A REPUTABLE COMPANY

There are many wonderful companies, whose history and expertise in the field, offer an array of natural products for your skin, hair and nails.  I recommend that you purchase your products from a reputable health food store or famer’s market dealing with fresh natural ingredients. Many natural products may have short shelf lives and some must be refrigerated, since they contain no preservatives or chemicals.

  • HEALING PROPERTIES OF ORGANIC PRODUCTS

Here’s a partial list of ingredients you may find in skin, hair and nail products:

1. OILS:

SOLID OIL: Coconut, shea butter, cocoa butter

LIQUID OIL: olive, sesame, jojoba, avocado, peanut, almond, grapeseed, essential oils such as lavender

2. HERBS:

Comfrey, aloe vera, calendula, tea tree

3. OTHER LIQUIDS

Apple cider vinegar, witch hazel, rose water

  • COST

Organic foods and products usually cost more than over-the-counter products because USDA has more regulations for organic food. Also, the food companies have to pay for the ‘organic’ label to sell their food as organic in the stores. So it costs more money for companies to sell organic food than conventional food. Companies who sell conventional food have a lot more freedom with what they do with the food. So they can cut corners and it costs less.

Without the use of synthetic chemicals organic foods are harder to grow, therefore harder to mass-produce and thus a higher price.

YOU DESERVE TO HAVE BEAUTIFUL SKIN, HAIR AND NAIL. IT IS UP TO YOU TO MAKE A HEALTHIER CHOICE.
